OTO Park Siemianowice Śląskie has officially opened. The new retail complex, developed by Acteeum Group jointly with Falcon Investment Management offers over 20,000 sqm of leasable space and a wide mix of brands from key retail categories. The development, built on the former Laura/Jedność Steelworks site, combines retail, service, and recreational functions with a space that preserves the memory of Siemianowice Śląskie’s industrial history.
OTO Park Siemianowice Śląskie is located in the city center, just 650 meters from the Market Square, adjacent to Skargi Square. The location provides convenient access for both Siemianowice Śląskie residents and customers from the Upper Silesian Metropolis. Bus and tram stops are located nearby, and 550 parking spaces are available for motorised shoppers. The facility is within reach of over 280,000 residents of the region.

The home furnishings segment is also strongly represented, with brands such as Agata, JYSK, Pan Materac, and Pepco. A brownfield in the city center has been given a new lease of life.
One of the key distinguishing features of OTO Park Siemianowice Śląskie is its location. The complex was built on the site of the former Laura Steelworks, later known as the Jedność Steelworks – an area that had been associated with the city’s industrial development for decades.
– We began working on the OTO Park project by examining the history of this location. For decades, the former steelworks shaped not only the landscape of Siemianowice but also the city’s identity. However, we didn’t want to literally recreate the industrial architecture. We wanted a contemporary interpretation of its most recognizable features. Hence the simple, geometric forms and the juxtaposition of red brick, steel, and large glazing. These materials evoke the memory of the steelworks while also reflecting the complex’s new function. Equally important to us was the connection of the building with the surrounding urban fabric. The layout of the buildings follows the course of Bartosza Głowackiego, Fitznerów, and Sienkiewicza streets, creating a semi-open quarter with internal frontages. We wanted it to be an integral part of Siemianowice.

After years of degradation and disuse, the area has gained new functions and been reincorporated into the urban landscape. The opening of OTO Park is also significant due to the 190th anniversary of the Laura Steelworks, which falls in 2026. The investors decided that the transformation of the site should be accompanied by the memory of its industrial history and the people who shaped it over generations.
The central element of the commemorative zone is the Steelworker Monument – a 175 cm tall, bronze figure of a steelworker with a distinctive casting spoon in hand. The monument was created at the GZUT artistic foundry in Gliwice, and the work took two months. The sculpture was inspired by a commemorative figurine once awarded for many years of service at the steelworks, donated by Mariusz Pilszak, a steelworker, Siemianowice community activist, and son of the last director of the Jedność Steelworks.
As part of the project, the Steelworkers’ Monument to the Memory of the Steelworks Brotherhood was also restored, and two large-format screens were incorporated into the façade of one of the buildings, displaying archival photographs and films documenting the activities of the Laura and Jedność Steelworks. Some of the materials, including footage of the tapping of pig iron, were donated by former employees of the plant.
