Galeria Chełm – the first shopping center in Chełm, developed jointly by Acteeum and Equilis – has obtained the BREEAM Final Stage certificate. This prestigious certificate confirms the fulfillment of the highest ecological standards in the construction of the Chełm shopping center, opened in March this year. The current certification at the VERY GOOD level maintains the previously obtained BREEAM Design Stage VERY GOOD certification.

On August 10, 2020, experts from BRE Global, issuer of BREEAM certificates, after a comprehensive evaluation of Galeria Chełm, rated the Chełm project opened in March 2020 “VERY GOOD”, awarding the BREEAM Final Stage certificate. The analysis of the Chełm facility carried out during the BREEAM certification confirmed the sustainable development and special pro-ecological values of Galeria Chełm, especially in terms of optimizing energy consumption, water, maintenance resources and waste.

– Obtaining the certificate by Galeria Chełm caused our great satisfaction and joy. It proves our determination and effectiveness in the pro-ecological projects’ development, at every stage of the process, from design to the opening of finalized shopping center.

– says Tomasz Szewczyk, Managing Partner Acteeum Central Europe.

In addition to purely ecological aspects, the awarded BREEAM Final Stage certificate highly appreciates the project management system at the planning and construction stages, as well as all solutions favoring the comfort, health and well-being of Galeria Chełm users – both customers and employees.

– The BREEAM certificate of Galeria Chełm makes us extraordinarily happy! It confirms how important it is for us to maintain the greatest possible harmony between the developed projects and its functional side, and their environment, both natural and human. Our goal is to build unique facilities combining functional values with the emotions of customers, creating places filled with a happy atmosphere where you truly want to stay longer.

– explains Monika Woźniak-Zawioła, Head of Retail Equilis.
