Acteeum Group, developing and commercializing Galeria Chełm shopping center, has recently signed a lease agreement with Lidl chain to become the food anchor. New Lidl supermarket in the first shopping center in Chełm will occupy an area of 2,111 sq m and will open – along with the entire center – in the second half of 2019.

The newly signed lease agreement introduces the Lidl brand to Galeria Chełm. The grocery operator will open its supermarket on an area of 2,111 sqm. and, along with the shops of other popular brands, will ensure the attractiveness of the commercial and entertainment offer of the new shopping center. Galeria Chełm level of commercialization has already exceeded 70% a year before its opening.

We are convinced that the supermarket with such a strong position and recognizable brand as Lidl constitutes a huge advantage of the new shopping center. Lidl’s proven strategy on the Polish market based on an extremely attractive offer, perfectly fits the Galeria Chełm concept as a comprehensive project, dedicated beyond Chełm residents. Our goal in the ongoing commercialization process is to create a mutually complementing mix of tenants with the widest possible offering. Thanks to this, as soon as next year we will open a shopping center of regional importance, which today is strongly missing in Chełm – the last former provincial city in Poland. – explains Mariusz Kowalczyk, Leasing Director at Acteeum Central Europe

The Lidl supermarket chain already runs over 600 stores in Poland. In Galeria Chełm, Lidl will offer everything of its best – wide selection of high-quality fresh products at affordable prices.

Galeria Chełm

Galeria Chełm on the area of 17.5 thousand sqm. will offer – along the Lidl supermarket – 55 commercial premises and over 550 parking spaces. The plot on which the new shopping center will be located is located at the junction of Lubelska and Rejowiecka streets (also constituting the Chełm beltway), in the major transportation hub of the city. The Galeria Chełm’s catchment area covers nearly 300,000 residents as well as the cross-border traffic with Ukraine and Belarus.

The construction works will start in the third quarter of 2018, and the Galeria Chełm grand opening is planned for the second half of 2019.
